Privacy Policy
SkyTech Labs ("we", "us", "our") is based in Sydney, Australia. We respect your privacy and handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs) in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth). This policy explains what personal information we collect through this website and when you deal with us, why we collect it, and how you can access or correct it or make a complaint.
1. What we collect
We only collect personal information that is reasonably necessary for our business. Depending on how you deal with us, this may include:
- Enquiry details you enter in our enquiry form: your name, email address, phone number, business name, what you would like to automate (including any topics you tap, such as "quotes and follow-ups"), and whether you would like a free call or an email reply.
- Communications you send us by email or phone, and notes from calls and meetings with you.
- Technical information that is processed automatically when you use the website, such as your IP address, browser type and the pages requested. This is handled by our hosting and security providers to deliver the website and protect it from abuse.
Please don't include sensitive information (such as health information) or other people's personal information in the form unless it is necessary for your enquiry.
2. How we collect it
We collect personal information directly from you when you submit our enquiry form, email or call us, or work with us. When you submit the form, we also record the date and time, the page you submitted it from and the country your request came from, and we use a one-way hashed (non-reversible) version of your IP address for a short time to limit spam and abuse.
Cookies and analytics: we don't use advertising trackers. We do use two analytics tools, described in Analytics and heat maps below, so we can see which pages help people and which don't.
Booking a call (Cal.com): the booking calendar on our service and contact pages is our own, but the free times it shows and the bookings you make go through Cal.com, our scheduling provider. To show free times, your browser asks Cal.com's servers for them directly, so Cal.com receives technical information such as your IP address, browser details and the time zone you pick. No cookies are set for this and no Cal.com scripts run on our site. When you book, the details you enter (your name, email, mobile number, and business name and notes if you add them) are sent to Cal.com so the booking can be made; the booking is then held in Nehem's calendar and Cal.com emails you a confirmation. Cal.com handles that information under its own privacy policy at cal.com/privacy. If you'd rather not use the booking calendar, you can use our enquiry form or call us instead.
Analytics and heat maps (Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity)
To understand how people use this website and improve it, we use Google Analytics 4 (by Google) and Microsoft Clarity (by Microsoft). They only start after the page has finished loading or after you first scroll, tap or click, and they don't run at all if your browser sends a Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signal.
- What they collect: the pages you visit, how you arrived (for example a search or an ad link), roughly where you are (city or region, worked out from your IP address), your device and browser type, and what you do on the page: scrolling, clicks and taps, and actions such as clicking "Book a free call", a phone or email link, starting or sending the enquiry form, or loading the booking calendar.
- Heat maps and session recordings: Clarity creates heat maps and recordings that replay how visitors move through a page, so we can spot what's confusing. Form fields are masked, so what you type in the enquiry form (your name, business, phone, email and message) is not recorded by Clarity.
- Cookies: both tools use cookies or similar storage in your browser to recognise repeat visits. We don't use them to identify you personally, and we don't sell this information.
- Where it goes: the data is processed by Google and Microsoft, including outside Australia. See Google's privacy policy, how Google uses data from sites that use its services, and the Microsoft Privacy Statement (which covers Clarity).
- How to opt out: turn on Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control in your browser, block cookies for this site, or install the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on. The website works the same either way.
3. Why we collect, use and disclose it
We use your personal information to:
- respond to your enquiry and arrange the free call you asked for;
- prepare proposals and provide our services if you engage us;
- keep records of our dealings with you; and
- protect our website and systems from spam, fraud and misuse.
We will not add you to a marketing list or send you marketing emails unless you ask us to. If we ever send you marketing, each message will include an easy way to opt out. We do not sell or rent personal information.
4. Who we share it with
We use trusted service providers to run our website and business. They process personal information on our behalf, only as needed to provide their services:
- Cloudflare: receives and stores enquiry form submissions and protects the form from abuse;
- Web3Forms: forwards a copy of each enquiry form submission to our email inbox;
- Cal.com: our scheduling provider, which supplies the free times shown in our booking calendar and receives the details you enter when you book a call;
- Google (Google Analytics) and Microsoft (Clarity): website analytics, heat maps and session recordings, as described above;
- GitHub: hosts this website and handles the technical information described above; and
- our email and productivity providers: deliver and store our email and business records.
We may also disclose personal information if required or authorised by law.
5. Overseas disclosure
Some of our service providers store or process data outside Australia, including in the United States and other countries where they operate. When we use overseas providers, we take reasonable steps to ensure they handle personal information consistently with the APPs.
6. How we protect it
We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, interference, loss and unauthorised access, modification or disclosure. These include encrypted (HTTPS) connections, access limited to the people who need it, and reputable providers. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
We keep personal information only for as long as we need it for the purposes above or as required by law, and then delete or de-identify it.
7. Anonymity
You can browse this website without telling us who you are, and you can ask general questions without identifying yourself. To respond to an enquiry or arrange a call, however, we need a way to contact you.
8. Access and correction
You can ask to access the personal information we hold about you, or ask us to correct or delete it, by emailing hello@skytechlabs.com.au. We will respond within a reasonable time. If we refuse a request, we will tell you why, unless it would be unreasonable to do so.
9. Complaints
If you are concerned about how we have handled your personal information, please contact us first at hello@skytechlabs.com.au and we will try to resolve it. If you are not satisfied with our response within 30 days, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at www.oaic.gov.au or on 1300 363 992.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The latest version will always be on this page, with the date it was last updated.
